Wayne leads the Team Architects Greymouth team and has over 25 years’ experience working as an Architect in New Zealand, United Kingdom, and Australia. Having worked on a diverse range of project types he has extensive experience in the commercial, residential, tertiary education and aged care sectors.  He joined Team Architects in 2008 after 6 years working in Perth where he was primarily involved in the detailed design of large scale projects, such as a 56 storey tower in Dubai, a convention and exhibition centre in Perth and an entertainment centre in rural Western Australia.

Wayne has developed a solid understanding of construction systems and understands the importance of good design and how well resolved construction details allow the design intent to show through. Wayne maintains an active role in all project stages from design through to construction and believes a successful building works for the end users and requires attention to the practical aspects of design as well as the aesthetic aspects.

Wayne’s recent projects include, Brooklands Fire Station – A post-earthquake, new fire station in Christchurch currently undergoing preliminary design. Beachfront Hotel Hokitika – additions to 4 star hotel currently in final stages of detailed design. O’Conor Home Westport – a recently completed 15 bedroom, dementia care home. An energy efficient home built on sustainable principals – recently completed in Karoro, on the West Coast.

Wayne has an interest in sustainability, having been a Green Star accredited professional in Australia and New Zealand, and is a volunteer firefighter for his local brigade serving the community.

Wayne leads the Emergency Services sector team at Team Architects.
