Post Occupancy Evaluation is a way to understand how buildings support organisations' productivity and occupants' wellbeing. Recommendations from evaluations are based on reports from occupants, project teams and maintenance people, about ways that existing building features and qualities affect work, safety and health. Lessons learned are used to enhance existing buildings and inform new projects.
Our records of 180 evaluations, of hundreds of buildings, include defects that more commonly, or seriously, frustrate work and wellbeing. We have compiled lessons learned from evaluations of some building types so the defects could be eliminated from new building programs.
