At the recent TEAM Architects New Zealand Forum, we had the pleasure of showcasing one of TEAM Architects Wellington's recent standout projects, The Sacred Heart Cathedral, to our directors from across the country. Our peers fully appreciated our expertise required for this highly successful heritage project, reminding us of the vital role historic buildings play in preserving our cultural identity. We are always inspired by the collective dedication of our consultants and contractors, whose specialised knowledge and hard work make our projects truly remarkable.
The guided tour of the Heke Rua Archives (NZ National Archives) construction site, expertly led by Crispin Jones from NDY was remarkable. This tour offered an in-depth look at the building’s sophisticated design and engineering, and we were all enlightened on the complexities of the building services required for its specialised use.
The integration of intricate service systems and the seismic design strategy, demonstrated the precision, effort and holistic detailing that goes into creating such a crucial facility. The application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) was particularly impressive, showcasing how technology can enhance accuracy and collaboration in the construction process.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to LT McGuinness for granting us access to the Heke Rua Archives site and their ongoing work on The Sacred Heart Cathedral Project. Their commitment to excellence in construction is evident in every aspect of their work, and we are grateful for their partnership in bringing our visions to life.
