Recognising the power of collaboration is at the heart of the NZ Commercial Project Awards, so TEAM Architects are proud to have been recognised for multiple projects at the 2024 awards ceremony. Across our studios, we see collaboration as a hallmark of how TEAM operates.

The star of the night was TEAM Architects Auckland’s Te Iwitahi — Whangārei Civic Centre project. It received the Supreme Award for a project over $10 million; a Gold Award and the National Category Winner award in the Civic category; and the Value Award. Judges were effusive in their praise for the project, stating “it has been built with passion and purpose to provide a great asset and enduring legacy to the Northland community.”

TEAM Architects Hamilton were awarded Gold in the Industrial category for their Convex project and a Silver in the Tourism & Leisure category for Te Karaka Lodge. Convex is a multi-use project that carefully managed extensive demolition and construction while keeping the client’s site operational. The remote Te Karaka Lodge project overcame numerous challenges to deliver a distinguished and skillfully built luxury retreat.

A third Gold was picked up by TEAM Architects Christchurch in the Heritage and Restoration category, for their Kilwinning Lodge project in Lyttelton. Together with their project partners, TEAM Christchurch restored and revitalised this historic Masonic Lodge, creating a modern office space while preserving a piece of Canterbury’s history.

Rounding out a great night of wins, TEAM Architects New Plymouth took away Silver for their Murihiku Marae Redevelopment project, in the Tourism and Leisure category. Judges praised their wharekai as a testament to culturally sustainable construction practices.

Entries into the NZ Commercial Project Awards are usually led by the construction company. TEAM Architects would like to thank all of our partners who included us in their entries and congratulate the winners.
