The Wairarapa Village Care Rooms had their pōwhiri and official opening last week. Lyn Patterson, Mayor of Masterton cut the ribbon, followed by opening speeches from local MP Kieran McAnulty, and then Mark Durling on behalf of the owners. A waiata and haka were performed by the children from Fernridge school before a walk through of the new wing.
The project involved an addition to the existing facility of 21 new care rooms with ensuites, alongside new lounge, dining and staff facilities. Key features included wide corridors, new skylights and angled bay windows. Great to have the opening day before Christmas despite all the challenges of 2020.
